Tips for Transitions
By Renee Leon

For many Aurora families, August is a time for transition. Our schedules transition from long summer days to regimented school hours, even as the weather and daylight beacons us outside and staying up late. For me, especially when the girls were little, I found myself in a frequent state of overwhelm. In the spirit of community support, these are a few things I’ve learned to help move through all kinds of transitions (nothing groundbreaking, just a friendly reminder of things you already know)! 😊

  • Sleep – The importance of sleep is now widely recognized as a HUGE self-care and wellness activity. Brain performance, physical health, and mood are ALL directly affected by sleep!
  • Fuel – What you fuel your body with will directly affect how you feel/perform. We all love a treat but remember to be honest with yourself about how often you indulge and how you feel afterwards. Moderation, folks! It’s not a new concept but one that can make a big difference!
  • Connect – Practice being fully present when getting face to face time with friends or family. The lovely fact about digital noise is that it will always be available. When you are sharing time with someone, let yourself be focused on them and that moment. The result is usually more productive/satisfying and less harried. If you don’t get much face-to-face interaction, maybe give your full attention to the cashier at the store or make an in-person date for a walk or coffee with a friend.
  • Share – If you find yourself feeling heavy, blue, or more negative than usual, reach out to a friend and share. We are a tribal species and aren’t meant to traverse challenges alone! Talk about your schtuff and be open to holding space for others’ schtuff. Build your support system and enjoy the fruits of your labor!
  • Progress, not Perfection – Do your honest best and let go of extreme ideals. Stop should-ing on yourself and let good enough BE good enough. If you keep moving towards the goals, you’ll eventually get there.

To bring this all around to automotive care, make your regular maintenance appointments so your vehicle is ready to LITERALLY get you safely through some of those transitions. Jose and Andrew can serve as a friendly face-to-face interaction, too! 😉

Last month Renee’ was excited to get an invitation to Small Business Round Table discussion with Congressman Jason Crow. The group gathered shared enthusiasm for his Apprenticeship support program, and all agreed that promoting trades and helping our youth envision various futures (not just the college path) is needed. All who spoke up acknowledged Workforce Development being a challenge for all industries.
That said, Aurora AutoPros is beyond grateful to be fully staffed by incredibly good people who are good at what they do and still seek to grow. 😊

I always enjoy going to Aurora AutoPros! They treat you like family and make sure you and your vehicle are well taken care of! My go to spot! 😊 Brooke Hammond

Aurora AutoPros we very clear in what the cost would be upfront before the work even began. They sent detailed information with pictures on what was priority and explained the why it needed to be repaired. I was able to choose which work I wanted done and which I would skip. They communicated every step of the way and were very transparent about the cost of each procedure. They even give a warranty with the work and the parts. Incredibly professional and I highly recommend! I will use them again! Trevis Hall

Major THANKS to Alice Baker, Kelly Thatch, Mark & Emily Reardon for referring us to your friends! You each have $50 referral credit to use at your next service!
