The weather is finally getting crisp enough at times to feel like summer is on its way out and fall is on its way in. Yes, I know Labor Day is the official ending of summer, and that the real fall won’t begin until mid-September, but I like to begin preparing now anyway. I may begin pulling out a sweater or two, and I may indulge in a pumpkin spice or apple pie flavored treat soon. But I'll still enjoy the warmth of an afternoon walk and try to sneak in one or two more summer adventures. I hope everyone gets an opportunity to roll down their windows this month and enjoy the feeling of this in-between season! And if you hear something you didn’t hear this summer–maybe a squeaking, a crackling, a rumbling–with those windows down, you know who to call.

Some of you may have noticed that a couple of our team members have been out due to injuries from playing too hard this summer. Thank you for your patience as we’ve been understaffed and SUPER busy. Steven and Andrew are resting and healing up, and we hope to have them back sometime in September or October.

Circle Singing is a community singing and sounding practice, spontaneous and evolving — like a drum circle for voices.
Based on practices developed by Bobby McFerrin and his collaborators, Circle Singing is a supportive, judgment-free space to play with your voice. Leaders create songs in the moment — patterns, percussive sounds, rhythms, harmonies, melodies, recognizable words, or invented language — and teach the parts orally to the rest of the group. The parts layer together into completely original compositions, each song a unique creation, never sung before, never to be sung again.
It’s a very organic, playful, community singing experience. This is a free, open vocal jam where all voices are welcome!
