It’s been stated time and again: “the only constant is change”.

2025 has kicked off with a LOT of changes, some enjoyable and others…not so much. These changes have led me to make the February Newsletter a bit mushy so BUCKLE UP! 😊

Friendly Reminder: Every person you encounter is likely experiencing a wide variety of changes. Depending on perspective and attitude, our response to change varies greatly! I’m grateful for the recent reminder that we all have a CHOICE in how we respond to change.

• Choose to offer help where you can; choose to accept help, too!
• Choose to look for solutions; avoid stewing in the hardship.
• Choose to remember that you rarely know a person’s WHOLE story. Offer grace whenever and wherever you can!

One Book, One Aurora: From Page to Stage
Bridging the Love of Reading and Theatre
January through March

Be part of One Book, One Aurora: From Page to Stage by reading “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” by Mark Haddon, and by attending its theatrical production by Simon Stephens at the Aurora Fox Arts Center, March 21 to April 13. Join a book discussion, an open rehearsal, discussions with the actors and director, sensory-friendly performances and a resource fair with community organizations. One of the main goals of this collaboration is to promote awareness and support for individuals in the autistic community through inclusive programs and partnerships.

Beginning today, library patrons can check out the book as a digital or physical copy and start reading. The library will offer book a book discussion on March 1. Details about the different events taking place are below:

• Open Rehearsal - Thursday, Feb. 27, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Aurora Fox Arts Center, 9900 E. Colfax Ave.
• Book Discussion - Saturday, March 1, 10:30 a.m., Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway
• Meet the Cast - Saturday, March 8, noon to 1:30 p.m., Tallyn’s Reach Library, 23911 E. Arapahoe Road
• Reception and Performance  - Sunday, March 23, 2 p.m., Aurora Fox Arts Center
• Resource Fair - Friday, March 21 to Sunday, March 23, Aurora Fox Arts Center

Experience a resource fair with community organizations such as Autism Community Store and Phamaly Theatre Company: 6:30 to 10 p.m., Friday, March 21 and Saturday, March 22; 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 23.
